Faculty of Law

The faculty carries out scientific research and educational work in the field of legal and related sciences. And the study cycle is organized as four years according to the 4+1+3 model.
Upon successful completion of the first cycle, a degree is obtained Bachelor of Laws .
The study is divided into eight semesters with a total of 240 ECTS points 240 ECTS.
During the studies, a total of 55 subjects are studied, 50 compulsory and 5 optional. Elective subjects are chosen from a list of a total of 62 elective subjects provided by the curriculum (link). One study year carries 60 ECTS points, i.e. one semester 30 ECTS points. The minimum number of points for an individual course is 2 ECTS, and the maximum is 6 ECTS.
The curriculum stipulates mandatory practice for 21 days in judicial or administrative bodies for students of the IV year of the first cycle of studies. The Faculty organizes this practice in the Municipal Court in Mostar, i.e. in other places in Bosnia and Herzegovina for students who do not live permanently in Mostar.
The curriculum of the first cycle of study, i.e. the compulsory and optional subjects contained in it, enable the acquisition of general and special theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in almost all areas of law in which students can have the opportunity to get a job and training for successful performance of work. The curriculum is such that, in addition to the basic ones, it ensures the acquisition of contextual knowledge and the adoption of legal values (by incorporating into the study of law, the understanding and permanent adoption of the rule of law, justice and the idea of fairness).

Criminology and security studies

From the academic year 2018/2019. In 2008, a new study program of the first cycle of studies - Criminology and Security Studies was launched. The right to participate in the competition, which is announced in June (first registration period)/September (second registration period), has the right to all persons who have completed a four-year high school education. The study program lasts three academic years (six semesters) with a total load of 180 ECTS points. Classes in the field of security studies are organized at the studio. Subjects are grouped into compulsory and optional. They should provide students with knowledge and abilities aligned with learning outcomes and competencies, acquired upon completion of undergraduate studies at the first cycle of university education. It is carried out in the first cycle of studies, with the fact that the study is designed in such a way as to enable further education in the field at another higher education institution in BiH and the EU. The study program follows the three-cycle model 3+2+3. After completing the three-year study "Criminology and Security Studies", the title is obtained: Bachelor of Criminology and Security Studies (at the end of the 1st cycle of studies - three-year undergraduate study). The Bachelor of Criminology and Security Studies is qualified for independent work: - in defense affairs of protection, safety and management of human and social resources in the civil sector - ministries, directorates, institutes, institutes, agencies - in the capacity of managers, operatives or referents in administrative bodies at all levels - diplomatic and consular missions, - international organizations - large economic systems - small and medium-sized enterprises and private business entities - scientific-research, educational and professional institutions - non-profit sector - humanitarian organizations - inspection services - media.
