Project goal:
- creation of the Media Law Clinic, as a program that will enable students to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of media law, and through which students will be informed about the latest achievements in the field of media law (including topics such as: freedom of speech and its limitations; right of access information, state security and the processing of confidential/secret information; hate speech; introduction to media policy; regulation of electronic media, cable and new technologies; self-regulation of the press; privacy and mass media, as well as court practices (especially the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights; judicial practice at the state level and decisions of media regulatory bodies).

Duration of the project: academic year 2012/2013
Activities in the project:
Holding workshops in which students of law and journalism as well as interested students from other faculties of social sciences of the University of Džemal Bijedić in Mostar and the University of Mostar (third and fourth year students) participate, and the number of participants should be between 15 and 20 students. The lecturers will be professionals employed in the media and judicial sector, professors, judges, public servants and journalists. The workshops will be on the following topics:
- Workshop I - Media, public interest and privacy
- Workshop II - Defamation and insult: laws and practice
- Workshop III - Right to access information and protection of confidential information
- Workshop IV - Hate speech in the public sphere
- Workshop V - Introduction to media policy
- Upon completion of the workshops, students will be awarded certificates of participation.
